NASA Takes Telix to New Heights

Shuttle Launch by Jeff Woods

Telix chosen over others for use on Russian Mir Space Station as part of the joint space station development program.

Telix is now quite literally out of this world! A NASA Contractor chose Telix v3.22 over other comm software to be used on the Mir Space Station by US Astronaut Dr. Norman E. Thagard and his comrades. Dr. Thagard, the first American to fly on a Russian launch, took off on flight Mir-18 on March 14th, 1995. When the space shuttle Atlantis made its historic docking with Mir in June, Dr. Thagard transferred from Mir to Atlantis, and returned to earth after 16 weeks of orbiting the earth, once every 90 minutes. Telix was selected for its superior file transfer capabilities to download barcode data to a notebook computer on Mir.

In other public sightings, Telix has recently been seen in CBS' 60 Minutes in a report on how today's children are technologically more sophisticated than their parents, and on Hard Copy, where a hacker demonstrated how to break into a remote system using his (unregistered) copy of Telix for DOS.

Later this summer, keep a vigil for a cameo of Telix for Windows in the forthcoming Rob Reiner film "The American President" starring Michael Douglas. While the production crew didn't guarantee an appearance in the film, we did sign a release and were told that data communications and computers would be featured throughout as an integral part of the plot.

We're quite anxious to see what ol' Meathead thinks of Telix, and to continue to take Telix to even greater heights!

Telix 3.50 Ships

TFD 3.5 Box by Bernd Giessen, ELSA GmbH

deltaComm Development has proudly rolled out a new look for an old friend, Telix for DOS. The new DOS update, version 3.50 adds many of the most commonly requested features to its mainstay ancestors.

Among the new features are fully-integrated mouse support, multi-lingual support for French, Dutch, Spanish, Czech, and German users, integrated Int-14h and FOSSIL communications support, including higher IRQ level of 9-15; easier-to-use configuration prompts help avoid interrupt conflicts and setup errors.

Development of this upgrade was done by our European friends at ELSA GmbH in Aachen, Germany; thus, the upgrade is even more friendly to international users than its predecessors.

The new version also takes its next steps toward retail distribution with shelf-ready shrink-wrap packaging and two fully-updated reference manuals, including a new SALT scripting tutorial to help new script writers over the hump.

Telix for DOS 3.50 has a retail price of $69, but currently registered users of Telix for DOS or Telix for Windows may purchase it for only $29 plus shipping for a limited time.
